It's hard to believe that autumn is quickly approaching, so we are throwing it back to last fall when Cristin & Davin literally had the most perfect autumn wedding you could ever ask for. The weather was perfect -- warm enough with a crisp. The leaves were the perfect backdrop. And not to mention it was Halloween weekend. Fall. Perfection.
Cristin & Davin wanted a vintage feel with lots of 1920's glamour. With the help of Flor del Monte, we were able to create the perfect balance of sequins, mixed metals, and pops of burgandy. Thanks to the amazing photographers with Pen Carlson for capturing their big day!
Promontory Point is located in Hyde Park, not too far from The University of Chicago. Cristin & Davin took full of advantage of the historic architecture by having their First Look & wedding photos on campus. (We cannot emphasize enough the benefits of having a First Look!)
Cristin's bridal bouquet was absolutely breathtaking. Flor Del Monte created the perfect textured medley of scabiosa, dahlias, roses, anemones, with accents of eucalyptus.
Loving how the gorgeous fall foliage is reflecting in their vintage welcome sign!
Promontory Point already has such a vintage feel with the exposed brick, hardwood floors and french doors. So we added in some 1920's flair with lots of black and gold, art deco-style table numbers and menu cards, gold charger plates, and of course, some sequined accent linens. The gorgeous florals included cafe au lait dahlias, scabiosas, garden roses, hydrangea, and seeded eucalyptus that was painted gold just for the occasion! Hundreds of mercury glass votive candles and the Edison bulb cafe lights over the dance floor added the perfect amount of sparkle for late night dancing.
If there was one thing Cristin wanted for certain, it was a "Naked Cake". Jewell Events Catering did an amazing job achieving the perfect ratio of cake to icing. By adding in some sparkle and a waterfall of lush, cascading floral, we created the perfect vintage cake.
Davin is a fly fisher, so Cristin surprised him with a fish groom's cake from Elysia Root Cakes. It was so realistic - it even has a real hook & lure in its mouth. Davin was just tickled.
