Erika & Phil's Zhou B Art Center Wedding - Part 2

We left off last year with Part 1 of Erika and Phil’s wedding at Zhou B. Art Center. I love the clean, white lines of the Art Center, with it’s white columns, polished cement floor, and large windows that let in all the light, even on a rainy day like that day in October. Erika really wanted a clean, modern, not too “feminine” aesthetic for her wedding reception, so we went with crisp white linens, clear acrylic chiavari chairs, and then tons and tons of exotic greenery and candles, with gold accents! She even wanted fun, “spikey” and unique flowers like King Protea, air plants, and ferns. Steve’s Flower Market absolutely nailed the design of the tablescapes. I absolutely love the outcome and overall look and feel of their wedding reception! The cafe lights over the dance floor added a dreamy glow to the night, as they danced the night away to Upbeat Orchestra. Mark Trela Photography really captured the subtle elegance of the decor, and fun vibe of the reception! Thank you Erika and Phil, for letting us be a part of your wedding day!

Erika & Phil's Zhou B Art Center Wedding - Part 1

Erika and Phil seem very much like opposites when you first meet them. Erika exudes a playful, energetic vibe, while Phil is more reserved and quiet. But the two of them together play off their differences and are the perfect pair. They both envisioned a modern, stylish, and unconventional wedding that embraced their Chinese heritage at their unique venue, the Zhou B. Arts Center. They wanted floral arrangements with a loose and organic feel, with tons of texture and funky blooms, and Steve’s Flower Market really stepped up to the task of encapsulating their vision. “The funkier and spikier, the better!” said Erika, so we went with unique flowers like giant King Protea, air plants, succulents, whimsical yellow billy balls, tropical palm fronds, ferns, and tons of greenery.

Allison & Brad's Lake Geneva Wedding - Part 1

When Allison reached out to me in 2015, I was so thrilled to hear from her! I helped her sister Emily, plan her 2011 wedding, and just fell in love with their wonderful family. Allison and Brad wanted a semi-destination wedding outside Chicago, and settled on the lovely resort town of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The Lake Geneva Country Club was the perfect venue, and luckily they had some connections to members who were able to sponsor them in order to host their wedding there!

Jane & Rahul's Langham Wedding

Happy Friday! It's been ages since our last blog post, but we have some lovely 2016 weddings to share! Jane and Rahul chose a beautiful and elegant wedding venue, the ballroom at the Langham Hotel. But they wanted to fill their wedding with unique, "moody", and "romantic" elements that fit with their fun and quirky personalities. Jane wanted the florals to look as if they were straight from a Dutch still-life painting.
