Like most of you, I’ve been watching the news in horror for the past few days at the continuing disaster in Japan. Their suffering is simply beyond imagination… My family and I (my husband, parents and sister) were supposed to head to Taiwan tomorrow to visit our extended family. Unfortunately, my parents had to make the difficult decision on Wednesday night to cancel the trip. Our flight was scheduled to lay over in Tokyo, which would have been dangerous considering that thousands of people are trying to leave Tokyo and Narita Airport is extremely over-crowded. Our connecting flight to Taiwan was also cancelled; changing our entire flight itinerary would have been difficult and costly on two days notice… I’m so bummed, but we’ll probably try to reschedule the trip for early 2012.
Instead, we’ve scheduled a 4-day trip to Atlanta to visit some family over there. None of us have ever been there, and at least it will be warm! Any suggests for things to see/do/eat in Atlanta would be much appreciated!
Tomorrow, I’ll be joining many others in the wedding blogging community for a “Day of Silence”. If you haven’t already, please take moment to donate (or donate again!): For Japan With Love
