The September wedding of Boris and Karen was especially meaningful to me because Boris is a long-time friend of my husband, Borton! They grew up together, and nearly 20 years later, they are still close. So when Boris and Karen approached me to help plan their wedding, I was beyond thrilled... and doubly so when they told me their venue: the River East Arts Center! We pulled together an all-star cast of vendors to execute their big Chinese-American wedding, starting with photographer Leo from Fragola Productions, who provided these gorgeous shots. There was so much gorgeousness that we had to split this into 3 separate posts! Since my husband was a groomsmen, we offered up our condo for Boris and the groomsmen and ushers to get-ready! Here they are, just hanging out... (So weird to see my own place in someone else's wedding photos! :))
Boris' brother Alvin, performing his Best Man duties...
Boris wanted to thank each and every one of his groomsmen and ushers for their friendship and support... he even wrote a speech!
Which was of course caught on camera(s)
And they celebrated with a shot of something stiff...
Karen got ready at the W Hotel Lakeshore, conveniently just a block away from the REAC.
Karen's wedding gown was custom made... I'll have an entire post coming up about the custom process, from Karen's perspective!
Gorgeous bouquets by The Flower Firm. I must say that Karen's purple bouquet of vanda orchids, lisianthus, and tulips was probably one of my favorite bouquets of all time. I also loved the accents of green cymbidium orchids and green trick in the Bridesmaids bouquets! A perfect combination...
A few shots of the beautiful bride
The guys had some time to kill as they waited for the ladies to finish getting ready.
Borton, Boris and Chris, having a little too much fun as they waited...
First Look time! I love this photo; the smiles on their faces are priceless.
"Blot, don't smudge!"
They headed to Olive Park for some bridal party photos.
