Chicago Bridal Fashion Spotlight: Jess Audey
One of my favorite local bridal shows is Indie Wed, which I go to every year with my equally wedding-obsessed mother. Within the first 10 minutes of Indie Wed’s inaugural show last year, my mom nearly dislocated my arm thanks to a display by a local fashion designer.
“Oh my God, look at that dress,” my mom said, stopping dead in her tracks to stare at a booth filled with colorful frocks. “I would wear one of those dresses at your wedding. I LOVE THEM.”
And that was my introduction to the ever-so-stylish and colorful dresses of Audey, which I, too, became obsessed with.
As soon as we walked into the booth at Indie Wed, we were informed that they can customize anything. Do you like a dress but wish it had XYZ? Do you have some crazy idea in your head that you need someone to make into reality? Audey can do it…and with style.
Meet Jess Audey, the incredibly sweet designer behind Audey, and she has a ton of design experience nestled in the perfectly-placed pockets of dresses she fabulously creates:
Audey dresses are a combination of whimsical, classic, indie and flirty, and they would be undeniably perfect for ultra-hip bridal parties of all shapes and sizes. You know that mismatched-but-cohesive bridal party look that’s so hot right now? Bingo! Audey would be a top-notch choice for your gals, especially since I presume they would have a deliciously difficult time deciding on just one dress style for your big day. And you know what? I can’t say that I blame them.

Perhaps one of the most endearing qualities is that these dresses look just as fabulous from the back as they do from the front, and wedding guests are sure to gasp with fashion-induced pleasure whenever the bridal party’s backs are facing them. And really, are we loving the colorful petticoats peeking out from under dresses or what?! And, of course, there are pockets aplenty, which is always necessary for that stray lipstick, camera or wedding band.
And did I mention that Jess Audey donates to local charities on a regular basis? With bridesmaids dresses right around the $240 mark, your ‘maids can rest easy and look pretty knowing that their dress purchases are bettering Chicago. Just one more thing to love!
P.S. OMG, I am seriously lusting over these dresses!! The prints! The flounce! That red print dress with the ruffled straps! ~ Charlene
